Works on View
With changing displays featuring the work of LGBTQ+ artists here in NYC, The Sugar Daddy hopes to spotlight the creativity of our diverse community. Works by the artists are on loan to The Sugar Daddy studio and available for sale. We encourage gifts to the artists through their preferred payment services (listed below).
These artists have graciously agreed to populate our walls with their inspiration, and hopefully inspire you as you wait for your service.

Stephen Davan is an artist and illustrator from the world of theater design.
For over a decade he has made his career as a scenic designer for Broadway, film, and television. His credits as an associate designer and art director include Angels in America and Frozen (Broadway), The Phantom of the Opera (World Tour), Elsbeth (CBS), and Severance (Apple TV+).
As a visual artist, Stephen’s work encompasses a variety of subjects—urban scenes, backstage life, the male figure—all rendered with a theatrical sensibility and careful draftsman’s eye. A special attention to gay lives, histories, and desires runs through much of this work, most prominently in his rainbow hued “NYC Pride” series celebrating historic queer sites around New York City, and in his paintings of gay life in Provincetown, exhibited frequently at the Provincetown Art Association & Museum.
Stephen is perhaps most at home depicting his colleagues from the world of theater. Strike The Ghost Light, his forthcoming graphic novel, will be inspired by his experiences working onstage and behind the scenes.
