  • Sugaring is the removal of hair by epilation (at the root). It is done with a sugar paste made from only three ingredients: sugar, water, and lemon.

  • About 4 weeks. You’ll need an appointment about once every 5 weeks to maintain that smooth look.

  • Depending on the parts you want to do, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes (for underarms) to 3.5 hours (for a full body sugaring). See our full menu with times on our Services page.

  • Hair is removed at the root so regrowth is soft. There is no stubble as with shaving because a fresh, new hair will emerge from the follicle.

  • Epilation is the removal of hair at the root; there are sensations. The vast majority of clients report sugaring to be more comfortable than waxing.

  • Red spots are not uncommon after your first visit but are preventable with proper aftercare – especially in the first 48 hours after your appointment.

  • Because hair is removed in the direction of growth, ingrown hairs are uncommon. If you experience ingrown hairs, there are products on the market specifically designed to relieve this, which your sugarist can recommend.

  • Absolutely. We welcome all gender variations.

  • A credit card is required to hold your slot. Cancellations require 24 hours notice to avoid being charged.

  • Around every 5 weeks depending on your hair and skin type. The more often you do it, the thinner and less visible your hair becomes.

  • Longer than 1/4” (or the length of a grain of rice). Don’t trim before your appointment.

  • People often ask how much is appropriate. I don’t have a good answer for that. As the proprietor, I don’t expect a tip but what IS important to me is that you tip my staff when you like the service. Mr. James is my #1 and his following continues to grow.
